Here is a head to head comparison between the Apple iPad Vs. The Amazon Kindle as an eReader. The iPad is a great device that allows a basic computer user to check their mail and surf the web as well as use some apps that will stream video like ABC and Netflix. At the end of the day, the iPad will give you more options along side an eReader but you will spend twice as much and will require a 3G subscription. The Kindle reads like a paper book and includes a 3G subscription at no additional cost. As an eReader ONLY, the Kindle wins. Check us out at angryweb.net

Question by pinky: Kindle vs. Nook (or other brand) — Which book reader is best and why?
I’d like to have purchase one to use as I commute from home to work everyday. I take public transportation, sometimes underground and other times above ground and in the sun. I don’t like carrying books, so I thought I might invest in an e-book reader.
I want to know which brand/model that you have tried is best, in your opinion, and why. Also, what problems, if any, have you encountered with the device?
Best answer:
Answer by AmericanAussie12 I think kindle is great source to use! You can buy books and read them online xD what you’ve chosen is good so far.
Easily operate the reader with one hand, without removing it from the case.
Reader is securely held in the case, whether the case is open or closed.
All ports and buttons are still accessible while the reader is in the case.
Double layers of plastic and steel protect your reader from impacts and flexing.
Zipper closure prevents dust and dirt from entering case, and provides extra security.
The BookArmor ™ case is the ultimate travel companion for your Barnes & Noble Nook Reader.
With the Delta Edition, just pop the reader into place, and you’re ready to go. It is compact, zips securely, and protects both the screen and the controls, so that you are ready to read – anytime, anywhere. Simply apply the removable strips (provided) to the back of your reader. The strips are easy to remove at any time without the use of chemicals, and without leaving any residue. Then “Click” the reader into place in the case. The reader is securely held until you remove it.
Protect your investment from dust and dirt, scuffs, spills and breakage. The BookArmor ™ zipper case will enable you to carry your Reader in your purse or luggage without worrying about something getting pushed into the screen or controls and causing damage. The case keeps dust and dirt out from the sensitive electronics and the reinforced sides protect the reader from impacts and flexing.
The BookArmor ™ zipper case is molded from thick layers of plastic and covered with durable abrasion resistant 600 Denier heavy weight fabric. Question by lalalalaaaaa: Amazon Kindle vs. Barnes &noble Nook vs. Sony Reader..?
Which is best? I’m 17 and asking for one of these for christmas, which do you recommend?
Best answer:
Answer by SevenSuns First off, the nook is on backorder so you won’t be able to get one untill January, unless you want to pay 2 or 3 times what it’s worth on eBay. And no one knows if the nook is better yet because no one has gotten their hands on one yet.
The better ebook reader all depends on what you want feature-wise. You can research the details and watch video demos on this website:
http://www.the-ebook-reader.com
I’d personally recommend the Kindle unless you really want a touchscreen because it has the most features and is the most economical in the long run.

Answer by Pauline A I own the Kindle 2. If you ask me to choose again now, I’ll still go for the Kindle instead of the Nook or Sony Reader, because I think the web browsing function is rather important (the Nook and Sony Reader does not have a web browser). The free internet (and now it is free international internet) plus the web browser allow me to look for information whenever I’m in need. It is really a cool feature that cannot be missed. And right now it is free for both the U.S. and many other countries, it is just incredible when you bring it to trip.
I like to use the text-to-speech function on the Kindle too, meaning that I can “read” with my hands and eyes free…
Don’t choose the Sony Reader, it is more difficult and expensive to buy books on it…
And I remember I read this review when I decided to get my Kindle:
Question by iellehcim: Kindle vs. Sony Reader vs. Nook vs. iPad?
Hey, there–
I’m thinking of getting a reader of some sort just to travel more lightly when I go abroad. I am a PC girl, so I’m not terrifically interested in an iPad, but they do look pretty useful. Anyone have any thoughts on any of these readers?
Thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by Natural The Kindle has much better price on books, compared to all other devices. The Sony Reader has the poorest selection of books. And don’t choose the iPad, the screen is backlight and it will harm your eyes for long term.
I’ve given a detailed comparison between the Nook and the Kindle previously, in another answer here. Guess you’ll be interested:
