Question by Deirdre B: Amazon’s Kindle Vs Nook?
I am thinking about purchasing an e-book and I understand that Barnes and Noble’s Nook and Amazon’s Kindle are practically identical in price. Is there any difference between the two? And if so, which would you suggest?

Answer by Stan Here are some highlights of what I see are the Kindles and Nooks different Advantages (I’m a Nook owner myself – that Free in-store reading option is what sold me)
=============================
==== Some Kindle advantages ====
=============================
The Kindle Uses the Amazon eBook library – which has a very large selection
The Nook Uses the Barnes & Nobel library – which is not as large, but is growing
The Kindle has an International Version while the Nook does not. So if you live outside of the States that can be an issue for you.
The Kindle has been out longer, so its software is more mature while the Nook is a Generation 1 device. (ie some software glitches with new upgrades and patches getting rolled out every few months)
The latest Kindle has a longer battery life (seven days with wireless turned on compared with four days in its original version). While the Nook only gets about five days on a battery. BUT with wireless turned off the Kindle lasts about two weeks – while the Nook stays around the 5 to 7 day mark.
============================
==== Some Nook Advantages ====
============================
With the Kindle you can only purchase from Amazon using their “whisper-net” eBook download system.
The Nook has a similar set up with B&N that allows for purchasing from their eBook library – BUT – it also allows you to load other eBooks you have on your PC that you may have purchased from a number of different sources. Essentially you plug your Nook into your PC via a supplied USB cable and you can drag-in-drop files on to.
Since B&N has physical stores you can take your Nook into any Barnes & Nobel store and it will auto connect to the store and let you read (for free) any/every book while you are there. But, there is a limit of one hour per day per book. Read a book for an hour and switch to a new book or come back the next day.

Question by Lulu Fehrry: kindle vs nook…which should i choose?
Ive been to the barnes and noble store and this lady showed me her nook. It looked pretty sweet, but i couldnt help but notice the gross finger prints on the bottom and that the touch screen scrolled slowly. My sister has a kindle and i have used it before. The problem with this is that it doesnt have page numbers…nor can you tell when the next chapter comes along. I dont think that you can buy the books directly on the kindle, or can you? Owners please help me!

Answer by kitty Kindle is sure a worth buying. Wireless is a unique feature I will say and that’s make really value for money. 3G wireless and global coverage, I personally travel a lot and really worthy for me. You can have any newspaper at any place and also they are cheaper. The best selling value for the Kindle is convenience for the travel, it’s pretty handy and easy to carry anywhere with you. The other important thing matters to me are speedy for downloading books and reading material. Also it allow around average size of 1500 books and reading material to store, so is a significant amount of storage space to bring with you. In one line I can say “you are carrying your book shelf with you”.
Also one of the other feature of Kindle is it’s E-INK screen technology that don’t glare in any light so no strain to eyes and you can read for hours.
Also you save a lot in compare to the actual books, the books on kindle are really cheaper so I have saved a lot till now. Also there are plenty of books on kindle to choose. Also it has so good features such as Text-To-Speech which is really useful when you get bored or doing some other activity.

Question by David L: Whats the difference between Kindle vs Nook vs novel?
what r the pros & cons? why buy either over a paper book?
Best answer:
Answer by Pauline A I’m a book lover and a Kindle 2 owner. Now I just buy all my books on the Kindle device. I don’t need to reserve space to keep them, and I can do everything like annotation, bookmarking, dictionary lookup, etc., all on a single device. And it allows me to bring all my favorite books with me all the time.
If you ask me to choose again now, I’ll still go for the Kindle instead of the Nook, because I think the web browsing function is rather important (the Nook does not have a web browser). The free internet (and now it is free international internet) plus the web browser allow me to look for information whenever I’m in need. It is really a cool feature that cannot be missed. And right now it is free for both the U.S. and many other countries, it is just incredible when you bring it to trip.
I like to use the text-to-speech function on the Kindle too, meaning that I can “read” with my hands and eyes free…
And I remember I read this review when I decided to get my Kindle:
Question by jessica: kindle vs nook questions?
okay so i just typed in kindle vs nook too see what other people got as a response and all 4 of the q&a’s had the exact same answers all going with the kindle…i think it’s an amazon conspiracy lol did anyone else notice this or am i the only loser looking up kindle vs nook……yea that’s probably it
Best answer:
Answer by Jay You aren’t a loser. Hahaha. I’m typing the same thing into google. I am very much frustrated with all the Kindle hype. Everyone seems to hold some allegiance to the Amazon brand name. I suppose they all support the lower prices and such. I feel as though the Barnes and Noble brand should be a real contender. Barnes and Noble is the largest bookseller in the world. People, even those who own a Kindle, come into the store for the ATMOSPHERE. You can’t get atmosphere on Amazon.com. Everyone needs to realize that Nook is just starting out, but once the kinks are worked out and it does it’s first few software updates it’s going to take Amazon by storm!
Question by Isabella: The Kindle Vs Nook which one is better?
I want to get an e reader for my birthday. I’ve been reading about the kindle and the nook and i can’t tell which one is better. I guess there both the same in a way but i want to know from other people’s opinions about it. Please do not post a link to an article unless you really think it would be helpful I am honestly tired of reading articles. So in short, just give me your opinion on weather or not the kindle is better or worse than the nook.
